Have you ever tried to drink more water to help minimize brain fog, headaches, or other some other nagging condition? At the advice of your doctor or an article you read, perhaps you tried to increase your water intake only to find that it didn’t taste good or feel right. It’s probably because you drank tap or bottled water.
Your body has a natural craving and thirst for pure water . . . every day.
In municipal water supplies (tap water), bottled water and even well water, you may find:
- pharmaceuticals,
- parasites,
- herbicides,
- pesticides,
- trihalomethanes,
- fluoride,
- deadly amoebas,
- chlorine,
- perfluorinated compounds,
- arsenic,
- gas (from fracking),
. . . and a multitude of other unregulated chemicals and toxins depending on the source of the water.
“Hard water then is your greatest enemy. It will destroy fond hope you have by striking you down when you should be enjoying the fruits of your labors. Crippled joints, repeated surgeries, enlarged hearts, hardened arteries, gall stones, kidney stones, hearing problems, forgetful minds, all draw your activities from the great out-of-doors into creaking rocking chairs and finally into bed-ridden old people’s homes.” The Choice is Clear by Dr. Allen E. Banik
Any water filtration system is better than none, but some systems are better than others. Distilled water is the purest. It’s H2O. In addition to hydrating your body, another main function of water is to help detoxify your body.
” Often it is heard that the body needs the minerals found in water. Not so. Our food supply is the proper source of minerals.” J. Edward Smith
You may have heard a myth that you shouldn’t drink distilled water because it’s acidic or it pulls minerals from your body, but consider the source.
“As far as acidity goes, distilled water is close to a neutral pH and has no effect on the body’s acid/base balance. Distilled water is safe to drink, and the kind of water I use myself.” Dr. Andrew Weil
Although I do drink plain distilled water sometimes, I mainly use it for soups, tea, and smoothies I make with organic fruits and vegetables.
Tap water, bottled water and well water typically add noxious substances to your body. Because they’re already contaminated, they aren’t as effective as distilled water in helping to rid your body of toxins.
“I mixed this myself. Two parts H. One part O. I don’t trust anybody.” Steven Wright
Dear Diary, This is the day I decided to drink distilled water.
Why not use pure H2O to ensure you aren’t adding more toxins to your body through the water you drink? My husband and I currently use the Megahome Countertop Water Distiller. It works well for 2-4 people because it can make a gallon of distilled water in about five hours. I usually make 2-3 gallons each day for the two of us. It’s on my kitchen countertop next to the sink. It’s the first thing I reach for every morning when I make fresh juice and coffee.
Have you ever tried drinking distilled water to cleanse the inside of your body?
Try this simple experiment.
Take a few minutes to jot down any physical issues you’re having. Then start drinking and cooking with distilled water every day. Note the benefits you experience within 30, 60 and 90 days. You’ll need about one gallon per person each day. Ever since I started drinking distilled water and using it for tea and cooking, I’ve noticed that I feel better and have much more energy throughout the day.
Now that I feel the difference, I won’t to go back to tap. When I go out, I take with me a glass water bottle filled with distilled water, or I take tea that I made with distilled water. I also carry a small TDS-EZ Water Quality Tester with me everywhere I go to check water before I decide whether or not I’m going to drink it.
If you believe in showering the outside of your body on a regular basis, you can certainly understand why it’s even more important to shower the inside of your body with pure H20 every day.
A $15 water tester is worth more than a $150 water filter.
If you have access to a sunny spot, you might want to get a solar powered distiller such as the Eliodomestico. This beautiful distiller would make a great addition to any garden, patio or balcony.

Or if you’re handy, you might want to do some research on how to make your own DIY Solar Still.
This blog post is not intended to be a forum to debate what type of water people should be drinking. There are plenty of other places you can do that. I’m simply sharing why I choose to drink distilled water in the hopes that it might help others who want to cleanse and heal their bodies.
H2O is water and H2O2 is hydrogen peroxide. What is H2O4? Drinking. Ha ha. ASU
I was excited about starting to drink distilled water. I also found some not so good information from another website but my gut tells me this is true about the distilled water. Feel free to send me any new information on clean and/or cleansing waters. I have been exposed to lots of mold spores and I believe pesticides so I have had some health issues and I am looking to detox heavy metals and mold that has accumulated in my body. Thanks so Much
Thank you for your comment Laura. I hope that you will move toward better health each day. Keep searching for the answers and you’ll find them. Feel free to sign up for my newsletter for more “tips to improve your life.”
After 3 days of only distilled water and a cup of coffee on the morning , my mood and complexion has improved . I’m sure my brain and other organs are feeling better as well . Cheers
Distilled water is a great option to remove toxins and detoxify your body.
NOT recommended for long term use though. Because distilled water has very little to no minerals it has a large number of reactive molecular sites that will bond with chemicals and minerals. This is why it detoxifies the body. As it passes through the system it actively bonds to chemicals and holds them in solution. Then you excrete the water and the chemicals. The problem with long term use is that it will also bond to magnesium, calcium and other useful minerals and remove them from your body. So it is very easy to end up with serious mineral deficiencies. Please do not take my word for it. Research both sides of this topic and make an informed decision. If you only take your information sources from New age, healthy living sources then you are only getting one side of the story.
I am drinking distilled water to detox. Does drinking some tap water negate the benefits of the distilled water. I use distilled water and also take some with me but sometimes I have to drink tap water when I’m away from home.
Distilled water will transform your health, it’s completely safe to consume everyday for the rest of your life, it only leaches inorganic minerals from the body. Tap water is NOT GOOD for you and neither is bottled mineral water.
It’s been just over 5 years now, I’ve been drinking nothing but distilled water. I like to mix in some Gatorade powder mix on my active days. Maybe make some lemonade or something different here and there. Always with my distilled water. I store some in the refrigerator, while storing two glass gallon jugs for cooking and backup. I love it at this point, even though it is a chore at first. Taking some with me in lunch size bag glass bottles for work. Also big thermoses for the hot days.
I take all my vitamins. Even some quality fish oils, msm powder, chaga mushroom. I can’t stress “quality” there. If it’s from out of the country and poorly regulated.. it’s iffy. It’s a bit like our tap water lol. I also drink these blended up drinks containing spinach, kale, chia seed, flax seed, a variety of nuts and berries.
I had a lot of bad side affects at first. Blood and puss coming from my pores, headaches, I think I passed a kidney stone. I never stopped. The side affects would only seem to come in the changing seasons. I live in Ohio where it’s 95°F in the summer and -10°F in the winter. I was always feeling better in a variety of ways so I just never stopped. If I began to tell you the positive side affects, I’m not sure where I would even stop. Let’s just say it will change your life! Lol , no homo, not that that’s bad..or whatever lol.
I hate the idea that bottled water isn’t regulated past tap water standards and it’s completely legal to sell tap water labeled as spring water. Also we put a “topical tooth solution” in the water that has actually been recently proven to be harmful to your teeth and your IQ level. Harvard annnd.. I believe West Virginia did these studies, having the same conclusion.
Fact of the matter, it’s been more than five years and I’m not looking back!!!
I recently got off statin drugs, it made me feel like a zombie and I lost all muscle tone, had muscle and joint pain, ect. The doc thought nothing of this. I am now taking control of my health. Oh, also I had to take blood pressure pills, pain pills while on statins. I no longer need these meds. I plan to start drinking distilled water to detox my body. I had 4 heart by-passes and already feel better off statins and I’m taking CoQ10 because statins depleted my body of this important CoQ10 I needed so badly. Who needs doctors? All they did was make things worse . I feel like they have stolen 8 yrs of my life. Now that I’m in control I feel So much better.
>Take a few minutes to jot down any physical issues you’re having. Then start drinking and cooking with distilled water every day.
I’ll definitely have to give this a try soon. I’m currently doing an “elimination diet” but with more than just my diet – I’ve been eliminating things like vitamins, supplements, caffeine, etc. as well as certain foods (namely soy and wheat) and checking to see and what’s been causing me my various health problems. I’ll have to add my water to my list of things to test as well!
Amazing blog! This information is very helpful. Thanks for sharing this.
H2O4 oh man I didn’t get that at first. Had to look at it for a while. Then I was like “ohhh f*$#ing hell” hahahha. Good one.
I ordered a distiller online about 5 days ago. I cannot wait to get mine. I am going to distill rain water, this will have far less VOC’s than tap water which makes me trust it more. I can finally stop drinking spring water which isn’t that good for you.
I read your whole blog and I found It’s really very informative for everyone and we all need to know about Drink Distilled Water Daily to Detox and Defend your Body. your whole blog is awaring to many people.
